Who We Are
Sustainable Partnership for Community Empowerment (SPACE) is a people-centered community development Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) founded in 2017 and formally incorporated in Sierra Leone.
Our vision is a world where families and communities are empowered to sustainably overcome injustice and poverty. This vision is driven by a deep desire to serve with purpose and commitment to empowering families and communities to break the cycle of poverty and injustice. We believe this is possible because sustainable transformational change begins with empowered communities.
We operate through our head offices in Freetown, Sierra Leone and a field office in Kabala (Koinadugu District, Northern Sierra Leone).
Our Commitment
In line with our mission, SPACE is committed to partnering with communities to address the root causes of poverty and inequality. From rural villages to urban neighborhoods, we listen first, respond thoughtfully, and place community voices at the heart of every initiative.
Our approaches are collaborative, context-driven, and rooted in long-term commitment. We focus on cultivating trust, amplifying local voices, understanding the social issues of our communities, and designing and implementing programs that reflect the distinct character and needs of the communities we work with. We do so because we believe that by promoting dignity, equity, and shared responsibility, we empower families and communities to unlock their potential and create the conditions for lasting transformation.
